Our performance was hindered for all three drivers by lack of speed and for Ash any forward progress was impeded in both race one and two when he received unnecessary contact whilst overtaking slower drivers on the opening laps.
The weekend was a very disappointing one for everyone involved and the drivers wanted and deserved great racing this weekend, but with our lack of pace we weren’t able to give them that and for this we apologise.
Our team of mechanics and engineers did an outstanding job over the weekend and the cars were as balanced as possible to ensure that we got the most out of them at a circuit where we have had great results in the past. Oulton Park Circuit generally favours rear wheel drive cars and with little weight on board the Subaru Levorgs still didn’t have the pace to be competing for better positions.
BMR would like to confirm that despite comments made about our engine provider Swindon Powertrain on ITV4 during the Oulton Park race weekend, Swindon Powertrain are our appointed and trusted engine project partner for the foreseeable future. We have work in progress with them with short term and long term plans which we wish to see through and Swindon and ourselves are working hard together to deliver more performance and get our results back to where we expect them to be as soon as possible.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors Adrian Flux Insurance Services, Autoglym, Subaru UK and all our technical partners, our drivers Ash, Jason and Josh and everyone in the team. We would also like to give a special thank you for the support of our loyal fans that travelled to Cheshire this weekend as well as those watching the coverage on ITV4. We have a lot of work to do and can assure you that we are continuing to work very hard back at the factory and we intend to come back stronger as soon as we can.
